Lecturer - Childhood Education
Description
The Undergraduate Teacher Education program within the School of Education at St. Bonaventure University invites applications for a lecturer position as an Elementary Education Generalist beginning Spring of 2027. The selected candidate will teach a 4:4 course load in the Childhood (Elementary) Education program. Courses may be associated with clinical supervision of preservice teachers. If appropriate, they may also be eligible to teach in one or more of the following graduate programs in Education: Adolescence Education, Educational Leadership, Inclusive Special Education, or Literacy.

Typical Qualifications
- Master’s degree. ABD or doctorate preferred
- A minimum of 5 years P-12 teaching experience with diverse learners (i.e., emergent bilingual students, students with disabilities, students from high poverty backgrounds, and/or culturally and linguistically diverse students, etc.) in urban and/or rural environments.
- Must hold a current teacher certification for grades 1-6, certification in additional areas, such as Literacy and/or special education certification strongly encouraged
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of and experience with P-12 school-based teacher education programs
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with instructional design to include technology supported instruction, course delivery formats, online course management systems, and best practices in education for both K-12 and at the university level
