About the Department of Electromechanical Engineering Technology

  • The department offers two programs which are Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology (EMSET) and Electronics Systems Engineering Technology (ESET).
  • The department offers collaborative environment with faculty from diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Both programs offer hands-on experience to students through projects and laboratories that focus on real world engineering problems.
  • Projects, laboratories and club activities provide diverse polytechnic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
  • Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.
  • May be requested to attend certain department meetings relevant to their work.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
  • Demonstrable skills/potential for teaching undergraduate courses, and in developing and implementing laboratory-based experiments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching.
  • Prior practical skills in teaching a broad range of courses and laboratories related to Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to work with others in a multi-disciplinary environment.
