About the role
The AI Engine Lecturer will teach up to eight sections within the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program each semester and contribute to ongoing AI curriculum development. This role aims to prepare the next generation of engineers with cutting-edge AI curricula, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary training that meet national and global workforce needs. There is potential to develop and teach a 1-credit applied tools course under the guidance of Think AI and VIP Directors and the AI Engine Associate Director.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to eight sections within the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program each semester.
- Contribute to ongoing AI curriculum development.
- Develop and teach a 1-credit applied tools course (potential opportunity).
- Mentor undergraduate students in applying AI skills to real-world projects.
Requirements
- B.S. and M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in AI.
- Experience in the practice or teaching of AI foundational knowledge and skills, including problem formulation, computational thinking, and probabilistic thinking.
- Experience mentoring undergraduate students in AI-related projects.
- Ability to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship from Purdue University.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (preferred).
