About the role
Xavier High School seeks a leave replacement Religion teacher beginning on 9/1/26 and concluding on 12/4/26. This is a full-time, temporary position. A new teacher orientation will take place on 8/25-8/27, and attendance is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities
- Teach talented young men from diverse backgrounds in an academically rigorous, Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory environment.
- Lesson planning, classroom management, and grading assignments.
- Evaluating students’ progress and curriculum development.
- Co-curricular leadership.
- Teach both Scripture and Social Justice courses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology or a relevant field.
- Ability to teach both Scripture and Social Justice courses.
- 2+ years of teaching experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and classroom management abilities.
- Developed interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a team environment.
- Enthusiasm for the work of education in a Catholic, Jesuit context.

- Competent professional with in-depth knowledge of the subject matter.
- Openness to growth and commitment to the art and craft of teaching.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and appropriate conduct.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
