Responsibilities Teach a class of about 20 students in the context of an integrated curriculum, possibly with a teaching partnerCommit to the academic and social mission of the school, which encompasses differentiation to meet the needs of a diverse communityCollaborate in the design and implementation of an integrated curriculumEngage in ongoing communication with parents and caregiversChaperone overnight and/or extended grade-level trips as applicable, in support of the teaching team, student experience, and the academic and advisory programFulfill all duties, responsibilities, and commitments as outlined in the school’s Guidebook and the organization’s code of conductKeep careful anecdotal and assessment records to write accurate, comprehensive student reports that reflect student growth and support their future educationPerform other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications B.A./B.S. degree or an equivalent degree or educational qualification from an accredited college or universityAt least two years of full-time teaching experience in K-8 public, parochial or independent schools beyond student teachingStrong skill sets in literacy, mathematics, social studies, and meeting the social and emotional needs of childrenStrong verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a related fieldFamiliarity with new technologiesKnowledge of Spanish Create a Job Match for Similar Jobs About The School At Columbia University The School at Columbia University is an independent K-8 school founded in 2003 with the goal of providing an excellent education to a diverse student body.
