About the Role

The Leave Management Analyst is responsible for management of FMLA, disability, and other leave programs and ADAAA accommodation requests. Coordinates the support for leaves of absences cases and ADAAA accommodation requests. Participates in benefits benchmark surveys, analyzing and interpreting data, and making recommendations to ensure MillerKnoll benefit programs and processes align with market practices, trends, corporate strategies, and philosophies. Performs exemplary customer service and assistance to associates, HRBPs, and Work Team Leaders. Works closely with Total Rewards and legal partners.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding leave programs and ADAAA accommodation policies.
  • Develop training materials and communications for use by HRBPs, Work Team Leaders (WTL) and associates.
  • Provide second tier customer service to associates throughout the leave process.
  • Prepare various research, analytics, and reports as required by both internal and external sources for benefits and disability planning; ensure relevance, competitiveness and affordability.
  • Ensure state and federal compliance of all leave policies including FMLA and ADAAA.
  • Lead the accommodation process in compliance with ADAAA and in partnership with the Legal Department.
  • Partner with Benefits Manager in managing the disability and leave administration vendor to ensure appropriate policies and processes are followed.
  • Partner with Health Clinic Manager and Clinic team to support necessary processes related to ADAAA.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for disability and leave programs in alignment and under general direction and guidance of Total Rewards leadership and the legal department.
  • Update and improve leave administration and ADAAA accommodation policies and systems as needed to create efficient processes and comply with changing legal requirements.
  • Partner with Benefits Manager to develop and implement benefits programs, including data gathering, proposal coordination, and process analysis.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 5 years of benefits or disability claims management experience.

Skills

  • Solid knowledge of laws and regulations related to benefit plan administration and compliance including FMLA, ADAAA and leaves of absence.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools currently used in the MillerKnoll office environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in developing spreadsheets and performing analysis.
  • Previous experience with data analytic software preferred.
  • Must be financially literate, possess business acumen, and be profit conscious.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures, and processes in a logical sequence at a level appropriate to the audience and resulting in effective working relationships.
  • Exceptional ability to follow-through and follow-up with internal and external parties to see issues through to resolution.
  • Experience with Workday and other benefits platform is preferred.
