Today we manage approximately 20,000 units across several states and our current management portfolio contains over 100 properties.
About the role
As a Leasing Consultant, you will help turn prospective tenants into residents while delivering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships.
Responsibilities
- Interview prospective tenants while adhering to Fair Housing Standards.
- Accompany potential tenants to model apartments to explain size and layout, available amenities and services, and lease terms.
- Fill out the lease form or agreement and collect the security deposit.
- Periodically inspect the state of the property and make arrangements for essential maintenance.
- Compile a list of available rental units and identify potential prospects.
- Manage the leasing and renewal process from start to finish.
- Provide exceptional customer service and build great working connections with residents.
- Answer incoming calls and voicemails professionally and promptly.
- Request that prospects fill out an application and make a deposit following company policies and Fair Housing regulations.
- Process applications for approvals (e.g., credit check, rental history) and update the availability report.
- Submit completed applications for approval to the Property Manager and follow up with candidates to provide status.
- Ensure the apartment is ready for the resident to move in on the scheduled move-in date.
- Follow up with prospects who did not close and attempt to finalize the business; if unable to assist, direct them to a sister community that can meet their needs.
- Monitor local market trends and update property comparables to keep track of competitors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, conventional, or multifamily real estate.
- Previous leasing experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service orientation and presentation skills.
- Working experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience as a concierge, guest services representative, front desk attendant, or reservations agent in the hotel or hospitality industry is a bonus.
- Onesite experience is a plus.
