About the Role
Our Leasing Consultants make a big impact in many small ways—a friendly smile, a welcoming greeting, a genuine interest in the people walking through our leasing office doors. You'll create a positive and lasting influence on visitors, prospects, and residents by understanding the importance of first impressions. You'll manage your own success by attaining leasing goals, such as occupancy and rent growth, and by building positive rapport with prospects and residents. You will be diligently managing leads within our CRM, scheduling tours, showing apartments all day, and encouraging prospects to submit their online application.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service (30%): Deliver unmatched service to prospects and residents; guide prospects through the leasing experience; serve as the liaison through the application, leasing screening, and move-in process including all related paperwork; answer calls, emails, chats, and texts; encourage prospects to apply.
- Sales (40%): Communicate detailed information regarding communities and apartments; generate interest by conducting informative and personalized tours that result in new leases; drive the sale by highlighting quality and lifestyle; develop deep knowledge of the rental process and assigned markets; employ effective selling techniques; collaborate with the onsite team to exceed occupancy goals; maintain current knowledge of apartments, amenities, and local attractions; maintain awareness of rental rates and promotions of competitive properties; project a favorable image of the community; schedule tours and show apartments.
- Leasing Administration (30%): Actively participate in the leasing process by monitoring inbound leads, qualifying prospects, leasing apartments, touring prospects, following up after each tour, and completing move-in procedures in accordance with policies; proactively manage all leads and customer experience using CRM software; complete assigned CRM tasks within the appropriate time frame; manage leasing requests from existing residents; run applications, communicate screening results, prepare and send leases, and collect all required information for move-in; inspect apartments prior to move-in and schedule outstanding items with maintenance; master the leasing process from post-tour follow-ups to closing all CRM tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Customer Service/Hospitality preferred
- 1–2 years of sales and customer service experience including reaching sales goals in a fast-paced environment (property management, hospitality, retail, or restaurant) required
- 1–2 years of previous leasing experience within multifamily property management preferred
- Valid driver's license depending on property required
Requirements
- 1+ year sales and customer service experience including reaching sales goals in a fast-paced environment
- Previous leasing experience within multifamily property management a plus
- Demonstrated success in goal setting/achievement and following a sales process
- Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws
- Must adhere to Fair Housing laws and Brookfield leasing policies and procedures
- High energy, sales and customer service driven
- Reliable, high attention to detail, self-motivated, and self-managing
- Ability to work well with diverse individuals
- Customer-focused mentality, sharp professional appearance, and sales aptitude
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- Required skills: fair housing laws, affordable housing programs, Microsoft Office, personal accountability, persuasiveness, and closing sales techniques
- Proficiency with Yardi CRM/IQ preferred
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends (regular days off fall Monday–Friday)
