About the role
The Leasing Consultant is responsible for marketing the community, interacting with residents, and managing lease renewals. They must adhere to Fair Housing standards and assist with various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and explain community qualifications
- Explain lease and community policies to new and current residents
- Prepare and assist with leasing paperwork, including applications, lease agreements, and move-in packets
- Collect security deposits, rent, and other funds associated with resident move-ins
- Ensure leased apartments are in good condition before move-in, conducting inspections and walkthroughs
- Communicate unit status changes to maintenance
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of community details, including rent and pricing information, vacancies, and lease expirations
- Inspect vacant apartments regularly for readiness to show
- Support overall marketing efforts and assist with resident relations activities
- Accompany vendors or contractors to resident apartments as needed
- Transport residents or prospective residents via motorized vehicle throughout property grounds
- Follow up on guest cards and call back all work orders within 24 hours
- Input resident work orders into Yardi and notify the Property Manager of problems daily
- Assist in completing Marketing Surveys and conduct outside marketing as directed
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and auto insurance
- Pre-employment background screening and successful drug testing
- Ability to interpret, evaluate, and communicate detailed instructions accurately and quickly
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Professional attire appropriate for a business environment
