Duties
- Greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting community tours and showing apartments, processing applications, credit screening, and criminal background checks.
- Preparing the lease and move-in package, ensuring a smooth resident move-in and lease signing.
- Inspecting apartments prior to resident move-in and ensuring they are in move-in-ready condition, scheduling any outstanding items to be addressed with the maintenance team.
- Staying informed about market and competitor conditions, developing and implementing marketing plans, and following community policies related to concessions, specials, and other programs.
- Designing and executing marketing activities, including resident referral and employer outreach programs, internet marketing tools, and following community-specific marketing plans.
- Tracking apartment availability, recording traffic and leasing activities, managing resident and prospect data, and preparing leasing office for daily activities.
- Facilitating the rent payment process, maintaining the appearance and functionality of the leasing office, and responding to resident and client inquiries.
- Assisting with maintenance of the leasing office, carrying out assigned tasks, and handling resident or other requests.
- Ensuring satisfaction of prospects and new residents through follow-up communications, and performing other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- 1-3 years office experience required.
- Prior experience working within the real estate industry preferred; commercial property management experience preferred.
- Administrative experience required.
- Customer Service experience required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized and possesses excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, extend arms and hands forward and overhead, finger and grasp; occasionally bend, crouch, or stoop; able to carry up to 25 pounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle fast-paced work conditions.
- Excellent time management and the ability to multitask.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in preparation of paperwork.
- Ability to be an effective and positive team player.
About the role
The Leasing Consultant under direct supervision of the Community Manager is responsible for marketing the property to prospective residents. General working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (flexible as required for proper coverage); weekends are required; overtime hours may occur with supervisor's approval. Tuesday/Wednesday off.
