About the Role
The Lease Administrator will oversee the accounting and auditing of leases for the company's stores and offices, playing a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the company's financial transactions for store lease payments, renewals, common area maintenance, taxes, and insurance expenses.
- Ensure billing and all other financial transactions are handled in a timely manner.
- Compile monthly rent roll for assigned stores and submit changes to management.
- Administer lease accounting functions, including impound reconciliation, scanning invoices, creating check requests, and maintaining real estate payables.
- Interpret lease provisions and dispute charges not permitted under the terms of the lease.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, database software, and the internet.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively, identify problems, and resolve conflicts.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand general correspondence, department reports, office procedures, legal documents, and statutes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with landlords and fellow associates.
- Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred; or 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training in accounting and/or administration of real estate leases.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit and frequently use hands to handle or feel objects.
- Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
- May occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
