About the Role

The Lease Administrator will oversee the accounting and auditing of leases for the company's stores and offices, playing a critical role in building a positive work culture, driving employee involvement, and supporting change management efforts within the retail organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company's financial transactions for store lease payments, renewals, common area maintenance, taxes, and insurance expenses.
  • Ensure billing and all other financial transactions are handled in a timely manner.
  • Compile monthly rent roll for assigned stores and submit changes to management.
  • Administer lease accounting functions, including impound reconciliation, scanning invoices, creating check requests, and maintaining real estate payables.
  • Interpret lease provisions and dispute charges not permitted under the terms of the lease.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, database software, and the internet.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, identify problems, and resolve conflicts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand general correspondence, department reports, office procedures, legal documents, and statutes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with landlords and fellow associates.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; or 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training in accounting and/or administration of real estate leases.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit and frequently use hands to handle or feel objects.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
  • May occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
