About the role

We're seeking a skilled leasing consultant to manage all aspects of apartment rentals, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals. Key responsibilities include interacting with residents, generating traffic, preparing lease documentation, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Interact directly with prospective and current residents to ensure maximum occupancy and resident satisfaction.
  • Qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and process move-in paperwork.
  • Maintain model apartments in touring condition and orient prospective residents to the property.
  • Process renewal paperwork and ensure documentation is delivered to residents monthly.
  • Enter traffic activity data into the computer and follow up with prospective residents via phone, mail, or email.
  • Create and maintain confidential resident files, review move-in paperwork with new residents, and complete weekly leasing reports.
  • Support management by providing clerical support, answering phone calls, filing, and processing property invoices.
  • Assist with resident relations, respond to requests promptly, and assist with resident activities to increase retention.
  • Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness, and coordinate with maintenance for repairs.
  • Support management by assisting with work order requests and ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Comply with company policies, health and safety rules, and relevant laws.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required, minimum one year of sales experience preferred, and one year of residential leasing experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in Yardi Voyager or similar systems is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.
