About the role

This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and will report to the Supervisor – Lease Records. The Lease Analyst reviews, interprets, and processes various Land-related contracts such as leases, deeds, joint operating agreements, assignments, trade agreements, right-of-ways, etc. The individual will input and/or edit data in the property records system, document and cross-reference related information, review and interpret title and ownership information, and coordinate with the Land Department on lease and payment obligations, title queries, expirations, significant deadlines, and owner inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the accuracy of lease and deed information, provision leases, set up payment obligations
  • Determine that acreage is properly accounted for in the system
  • Ensure payment information for leases and various contracts is accurate in the system and payments are made and documented in a timely manner
  • Set up various contracts including but not limited to: leases, deeds, assignments, JOAs, letter agreements, right-of-ways, and DPUs
  • Balance unit leasehold with DOI at the time of production
  • Evaluate monthly expiration reports and enter updates into the system database to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the leasehold
  • Review special obligation reports to ensure all obligations are being met and update the records accordingly
  • Review and circulate monthly rental reports to ensure that rental payments are accurate and made timely
  • Review transfer documentation and title information to ensure the correct mineral and leasehold ownership is reflected in the system
  • Complete various quality control checks to ensure the lease and contract records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Research and coordinate special projects relating to lease and contract records for various departments
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal English communications skills
  • Manage information with accuracy and critical attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of basic math concepts
  • Working knowledge of oil and gas vocabulary as well as the ability to read and interpret legal descriptions for a tract of land and land title information
  • Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects to meet established deadlines
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office applications with special attention to Microsoft Excel
  • Able to learn company-specific applications
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with Quorum Land System (QLS) program (Preferred)
