Primary Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Reading Specialist and faculty to coordinate intervention for struggling students.
- Counsel families on learning support and assessment accommodations.
- Organize and oversee student accommodations and needs.
- Support the admissions and enrollment process as related to students with learning differences.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, outside professionals, and parents to improve academic growth and success for all students.
- Assume an active role in Student Support Meetings.
- Collaborate with the school-wide ROAR Team to promote an integrated approach to learning support.
- Regularly attend conferences and other professional development events to remain current with industry trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to create behavioral interventions to support student’s learning.
- Be aware of the educational, spiritual, physical, social-emotional needs of the school community and develop plans for meeting those needs.
- Create and embrace meaningful connections with families.
- Communicate proactively with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in parent education programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in school psychology, clinical psychology, educational psychology, or related field.
- At least four years of experience as a school psychologist or in a related role.
- Familiarity with legal responsibilities of independent schools related to IEP and 504 plans.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, administration, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
- A positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor.
