Primary Responsibilities
- Counsel families on learning support and assessment accommodations.
- Organize and oversee student accommodations and needs, to include standardized testing support.
- Work directly with students on topics such as study skills, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills.
- Support the admissions and enrollment process as related to students with learning differences as appropriate.
- Act as a liaison with private testing agencies and local school districts as appropriate.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, outside professionals, and parents to improve academic growth and success for all students.
- Assume an active role in Student Support Meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in school psychology, school counseling, educational psychology, special education or related field.
- At least four years of experience as a learning specialist or in a related role.
- Independent school experience preferred.
- Familiarity with legal responsibilities of independent schools related to IEP and 504 plans.
- Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, administration, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor.
