Learning Specialist EMS Lab Assistant
About the role
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among a diverse student population. MassBay Community College seeks qualified part time Lab Assistants/Learning Specialists in our EMT and Paramedicine courses.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in EMS courses to students on various topics in basic and advanced emergency care procedures and patient management;
- Supervise and/or evaluate students through skills practice in the proper procedures for safe and effective use of EMS equipment and simulation manikins under the direction of the Instructor/Coordinator or lead instructor;
- Collaborate with faculty concerning students' academic progress and needs;
- Maintain a safe lab environment during skills training and evaluation sessions;
- Attend at least one department or Advisory Committee meeting each semester;
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements
- MA Paramedic certification in good standing with no history of suspension or revocation;
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification.

- Paramedic + Current Massachusetts EMS Instructor/Coordinator credential;
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor credentials;
- Experience working with college students in a flexible setting;
- Three (3) years of experience as a Paramedic functioning on an emergency response ambulance.

Pay
Salary Range: $49.32 - 49.32 Hourly Wage
Schedule
Times and days vary depending on the semester. Must be able to commit to 4-8 hours weekly during the semesters. The program has day and evening EMT and Paramedicine courses. Both EMT and Paramedicine programs enroll students in the fall, spring and summer.
