About the Role

At gt.school, we focus on what gifted students are capable of, not just what they should know. As a Learning Guide, you’ll help exceptional young minds build habits and character to match their intellectual potential. You’ll lead a K-3 cohort (Kindergarten-1st or 2nd-3rd grade), spending half your day on life-skills workshops and the other half coaching students one-on-one or in small groups. This is a full-time, on-site role at our Georgetown, Texas campus, with relocation assistance available for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging life-skills workshops on communication, focus, leadership, resilience, and more, using active participation instead of lectures.
  • Coach students one-on-one and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics and motivation systems to meet ambitious weekly goals.
  • Assess life-skill mastery through gt.school’s Test2Pass framework, ensuring genuine understanding and consistent application.
  • Adapt coaching styles to meet the developmental needs of your cohort, blending creativity with high expectations.
  • Build relationships that challenge students to embrace difficult work, persist through setbacks, and develop strong character.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering academic lessons from the front of the room (students use AI-powered software for core subjects).
  • Holding students back due to traditional grade-level expectations.
  • Writing curriculum from scratch (you’ll personalize proven playbooks).
  • Supervising independent work (your focus is on coaching and motivation).
  • Lowering standards when students face challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a personal record of exceptional academic achievement.
  • At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, or similar roles.
  • Specific examples of leading structured activities, motivating children to achieve goals, and adapting based on feedback.
  • Comfort using AI-powered learning tools while focusing on coaching and life-skill development.
  • Ability to balance warmth with high expectations for every student.
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site in Georgetown, Texas.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with gifted, accelerated, or highly advanced learners.
  • Background in youth sports, theater, camp leadership, Montessori, or progressive education.
  • Outstanding storytelling or presentation skills that engage young children.
  • Track record of helping children stretch beyond perceived limits.
