Learning Environment Specialist - South Central
Remote role based in the San Antonio or Victoria, TX areas. Full-time exempt position with a base salary of $80K–$100K plus commission.

At Meteor Education, we are passionate about assisting schools in transforming their learning experiences by aligning pedagogy, space, and technology to positively impact teaching and learning. Our Learning Environment Specialists are field representatives who develop client relationships and work alongside project teams to deliver transformational learning environments and experiences. The role is responsible for generating revenue at company target margin through building a qualified pipeline, acquiring target clients, and fostering long-standing customer relationships with support from Meteor’s marketing, business development, and support teams.
Responsibilities
- Growth Strategy
- Develop account strategies, territory planning, and administrative tasks to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Create and utilize a quarterly business plan aligned with marketing strategies through account base analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and customer insights.
- Prospect for new accounts and business development opportunities.
- Secure new customers by spending time in the field, obtaining initial and repeat orders, and managing daily/weekly schedules to engage existing or potential customers.
- Develop and increase sales revenue at or exceeding target margin through business development activities.
- Customer Experience
- Own the customer relationship before, during, and after the sale.
- Involve Learning Experience Coordinators and Interior Designers in the sales process to create Prosocial Learning Environments/Experiences.
- Engage high-level school, district, architectural, and community stakeholders to gain consensus and facilitate change in learning experiences and environments.
- Manage existing client renewals and relationships.
- Collaborate with support teams to enhance communication during project fulfillment and ensure client satisfaction.
- General
- Develop expertise in Meteor’s products and learning experiences; effectively communicate and position product information to customers.
- Travel 3+ days per week.
- Conduct presentations and product demonstrations for potential clients.
- Complete sales reporting as required.
- Actively participate in trade shows and trade organizations for networking and professional development.
Requirements
- Consultative selling style with a focus on professional, persistent qualification of prospects’ budget, authority, need, and timing.
- Self-starter capable of working autonomously.
- At least 3 years of field sales experience with demonstrable results; K-12 education market experience a plus.
- Proven ability and willingness to prospect for new business.
- Experience managing a large pipeline of accounts.
- Demonstrated skills in prospecting, territory management, time management, presentation, negotiation, closing, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Experience identifying, qualifying, and closing B2B deals ranging from $5,000 to over $50,000.
- Strategic thinking, planning, and execution abilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass criminal background and drug screening.
- Advanced proficiency in business applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and web searching.

Cultural Orientation
All new hires are expected to attend an in-person cultural orientation in Gainesville, FL, typically 3 to 6 weeks after their start date. This one-week experience focuses on company culture, values, and team connection and is separate from role-specific training. Employees may also be asked to travel for annual company meetings or other business events. All required business travel expenses are covered by Meteor.
