About the role

This position is paraprofessional work that requires the teacher assistant to assist the classroom teacher in performing a variety of tasks after training, including emergency plans, health-related plans/services, and carrying out instructional procedures. This position performs work under the direct supervision of the teacher, building administrator, and appropriate Special Education Department administrator.

Requirements

Candidates for this position must be Highly Qualified through one of the following:

• Have obtained an Associate's degree, or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
• Completed a minimum of 48 college credits from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
• Passed the ParaPro assessment with a minimum score of 455. Documentation of test score must be submitted.

Pay

Hiring Range: $21.12 - $33.82/hour ($27,793 - $44,503/year)
