Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant

Position Summary

Ridgewood Public Schools seeks an LDT-C for a PreK-Grade 5 school. The role serves as the building case manager, collaborates with CST across sites, supports students in inclusion and self-contained settings, participates on the I&RS team, and provides instructional consultation and tiered interventions for students with learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as building case manager for students with learning disabilities
• Collaborate with Child Study Team (CST) across multiple school sites
• Support students in both inclusion and self-contained classroom settings
• Participate on the Intervention & Referral Services (I&RS) team
• Provide instructional consultation and tiered interventions for students with learning needs
• Monitor the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Conduct educational evaluation, data analysis and interpretation
• Develop educational program planning, management and consultation for atypical learners in conjunction with other team members and staff
• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators both verbally and in writing
• Maintain harmonious relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDT-C)
• Degree in Special Education or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with learning disabilities
• Experience as a learning consultant, preferably at the PK-elementary level
• Knowledge of and ability to meet state mandates related to students with disabilities
• Expertise in educational evaluation, data analysis and interpretation, educational program planning, management and consultation
• Strong knowledge of various assessment tools and techniques
• Proficiency in using technology and software relevant to educational assessments and reporting
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and staff
• Demonstrated specialized skills and personal characteristics to carry out the philosophy and instructional program of the Ridgewood Public Schools

Working Conditions

• Full-time, permanent position

• Salary range: $70,062–$125,242, commensurate with education and experience as per negotiated contract
• Reports to: Building Principal, Director of Special Programs, Supervisors of Special Education, and designees of the Superintendent
