Learning & Development Leader
Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products Division is seeking a Learning and Development Leader to join our team at the Port Hudson Paper Mill in Zachary, Louisiana. In this role, you will create value by developing and executing learning strategies that build individual and organizational capability, support operational excellence, and enable employees to reach their highest potential.
About the Team
For over 50 years, the Port Hudson Paper Mill has been a major part of the economic lifeblood of the region. With more than 300 employees, Port Hudson strives to lead the tissue and towel business. Responsibilities
- Lead the site's learning and development strategy to support business objectives and workforce capability needs
- Partner with operational and functional leaders to identify skill gaps and capability-building opportunities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve training systems, learning programs, and qualification processes
- Support onboarding, job progression, leadership development, and technical skill development initiatives
- Establish and maintain training metrics to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Facilitate or coordinate instructor-led, hands-on, and digital learning experiences
- Coach leaders on employee development, performance feedback, and capability-building best practices
- Drive knowledge management initiatives to capture and transfer critical organizational knowledge
- Ensure training programs meet regulatory, safety, and company requirements
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve employee proficiency, engagement, and overall business performance
Requirements
- Experience leading, facilitating, coordinating, or developing training programs in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or business environment
- Experience partnering with leaders to identify development needs and implement capability-building solutions
- Experience managing projects and driving initiatives with multiple stakeholders
- Experience using data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and support decision-making
- Direct supervisory experience
Qualifications
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience supporting learning and development initiatives within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience designing competency-based training systems or qualification programs
- Experience supporting leadership development and succession planning processes
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or training management platforms
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design practices
