Responsibilities
- Partners with faculty on the design (developing learning objectives, designing assessments, and co-creating deliverables) of student-centered learning experiences for in-person, hybrid, and/or online courses.
- Supports faculty on the implementation of designs for a variety of modalities, platforms, and scales often leveraging emerging educational technologies, learning science research, and learning analytics.
- Manages (timeline and scope) learning design for small teaching and learning projects like on-demand resources, learning objects, or course design, often collaborating with other learning designers to design instructional materials for using technologies covered in the course.
- Provides guidance to programmers and designers on the development of digital materials.
- Conducts outreach and follow-up with assigned departments and schools.
- Develops strong working relationships with academic staff and effectively accesses institutional resources.
- Provides support for office open hours and knowledge-base and ticketing.
- Collaborates on the development of workshops and related resources such as documentation, on-demand resources, and educational development materials.
- Offers support for instructors on a variety of online tools and media services especially LMS support materials.
- Stays abreast of emerging research in learning design and evolving standards in educational practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and or its equivalent.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Extensive experience using Macs and Windows machines.
- Knowledge of educational technology, research in the learning sciences, and data/learning analytics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
