About the role

When students struggle, most schools lower the bar. You do the opposite. You hold the belief that young learners can achieve significantly more than traditional education systems demand, and you have led teams that deliver measurable proof. You understand that accountability, motivation, and high expectations transform outcomes in ways no additional worksheet can replicate.

At Alpha, academics are completed in just two morning hours through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows you to focus on what matters most long-term: coaching students toward independent learning while developing the Guides who enable that progress. You will be accountable for the outcomes of a K-3 cohort, leveraging data, observation, and coaching to ensure every child learns twice as fast, loves school, and builds exceptional life skills.

This role is neither an instructional coach position nor a principal position. You will not be consumed by meetings or administrative paperwork. Instead, you will be present in classrooms, evaluating student and Guide performance, facilitating workshops on resilience, communication, focus, and accountability, and coaching both children and adults toward concrete improvement. Your impact will extend beyond your cohort. You will document successful strategies, create playbooks that elevate standards across the school, and contribute to how Alpha prepares future Guides. Responsibilities

• Use performance data, classroom observations, and direct feedback to coach Guides and students toward measurable improvement.
• Design and deliver engaging workshops for K-3 students on life skills including communication, focus, resilience, accountability, and collaboration.
• Conduct one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions that link student motivation with academic independence and growth.
• Develop and iterate on repeatable coaching playbooks that elevate Guide team performance.
• Mentor and train Guides while demonstrating exceptional coaching and facilitation practices daily.
• Fulfill Alpha's three promises for every K-3 student by cultivating high-performing Guides, highly motivated students, and a coaching culture that reliably delivers exceptional academic and life outcomes.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Providing traditional classroom instruction or lecturing on academic content; core academics are managed by adaptive technology.
• Relying on punishment or lowered expectations to manage discipline when students face difficulty.
• Operating from an office rather than engaging directly with students and Guides on a daily basis.
• Taking responsibility for campus operations, budgets, or parent communication; your work centers on people development and outcome improvement.
• Adhering to conventional elementary school methods simply because "that's the way it's always been done."

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Willing to work in person at an Alpha campus in Miami, FL or New York City, NY; we provide relocation support.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, Business, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5-9).
• Experience leading teams of five or more people, including hiring decisions and performance management.
• Experience building, launching, or significantly growing a program, team, school, or initiative rather than sustaining an existing one.
• Demonstrated success leveraging data and measurable outcomes to enhance team or student performance.
• Enthusiastic about challenging traditional education models and adopting a coaching-first approach.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Experience leveraging dashboards, performance metrics, or analytics to drive continuous improvement.
• Proven track record of coaching adults to achieve measurable performance outcomes.
• Background in competitive coaching, youth development, camps, enrichment programs, or other high-accountability environments.
• Strong facilitation and public speaking skills with young children.

Pay

The compensation level for this role is $200,000 USD/year. The payment period is weekly.

This is a full-time, W2 employee position. All roles are year-long positions.
