About the role

On-site role at an Alpha campus located in New York City, NY, or Miami, FL — support for relocation available. You will be accountable for results within a K-3 cohort, leveraging data, direct observation, and coaching to ensure each child enjoys school, progresses at twice the typical rate, and builds outstanding life competencies.

Responsibilities

Your days will be present in classrooms, evaluating both student and Guide effectiveness, facilitating workshops on resilience, focus, communication, and accountability, and coaching children and adults toward concrete improvement. You will capture proven methods, create playbooks that elevate school-wide standards, and contribute to Alpha's approach for developing future Guides.

  • Provide coaching to Guides and students by analyzing performance data, conducting classroom observations, and offering direct feedback for measurable gains.
  • Design and lead dynamic workshops for K-3 students that address communication, resilience, collaboration, focus, accountability, and additional life competencies.
  • Conduct one-on-one and small-group coaching that links student motivation to growth in academics and independence.
  • Develop and iterate on reusable coaching playbooks that enhance Guide team performance.
  • Mentor and train Guides while demonstrating outstanding coaching and facilitation practices daily.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching traditional lessons or presenting academic material directly; core academics are addressed through adaptive technology.
  • Applying punitive discipline or reducing expectations when students face difficulties.
  • Operating from an office rather than engaging directly with students and Guides each day.
  • Handling campus operations, financial planning, or parent outreach; your primary focus is people development and outcome improvement.
  • Adhering to standard elementary school methods solely because "that's the way it's always been done."

Requirements

Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY or Miami, FL; relocation assistance is available. Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 5 years working with elementary-aged children (roughly ages 5-9).

  • Track record of leading teams of five or more individuals, including performance management and hiring responsibilities.
  • Experience building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, school, team, or initiative beyond simply sustaining existing operations.
  • Proven ability to leverage data and measurable outcomes to elevate team or student performance.
  • Enthusiastic about questioning traditional education models and adopting a coaching-centered philosophy.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Familiarity with dashboards, analytics platforms, or performance measurement systems for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching adults to achieve measurable performance results.
  • Experience in youth development, competitive coaching environments, enrichment initiatives, camps, or other settings with high accountability.
  • Proven public speaking and facilitation capabilities with young children.
