Responsibilities

  • Coaching both Guides and students through performance metrics, classroom observation, and explicit feedback, then ensuring accountability to quantifiable targets
  • Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 students focused on life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and feedback exchange
  • Conducting individual and small-group sessions that link each child's personal interests and aspirations to tangible academic advancement
  • Developing and iterating on playbooks that translate your most effective strategies into replicable systems other Guides can implement reliably
  • Training Guides on these playbooks and exemplifying excellence in facilitation to maintain standards as the team expands

Qualifications

  • Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in New York City, NY; Miami, FL; or San Francisco, CA; relocation assistance is available
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5 to 9)
  • Track record leading a team of 5 or more individuals, with authority to make hiring and performance-based dismissal decisions
  • Proven experience building, launching, or substantially scaling a program, team, school, or initiative from inception
  • Comfortable operating in an educational environment that rejects conventional teaching practices
  • Authorized to work legally in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated success using metrics, dashboards, or data analytics to identify challenges and produce measurable progress
  • Experience coaching or supervising other adults to achieve quantifiable results, beyond executing tasks independently
  • Background in youth development, camp leadership, competitive athletics coaching, tutoring, or enrichment programs where motivating students was essential
  • Proven ability facilitating or speaking publicly before groups of young children
