About the role

McCannics is looking for experienced builders, carpenters, and hammerhands to join their construction team in Gisborne. They offer both long-term employment and fixed-term contracts.

Responsibilities

• Confident in a fast-paced environment
• Deliver high-quality workmanship
• Proven experience in building or commercial construction
• Sound knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and health & safety regulations
• Able to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings
• Competence in concrete work, framing, steel, partitioning, and finishing
• A reliable, punctual, and team-focused work ethic
• SiteSafe certification and relevant trade qualifications (or currently working toward them)
• Good communication skills and fluency in English
• A current driver’s licence is a bonus
