About the role

CluedUp is a browser extension that helps you learn languages by understanding real-world content, not memorizing. Read the English you already read—tap a word, see its meaning in place, and let your saved words become your personal course.

How it works

• You read English: Articles, messages, work docs, or any content on the web—the English you already encounter daily.
• CluedUp translates in place: Tap a word and the meaning appears right there, matched to the sentence, not a dictionary guess. Example: “Can you polish this text?” → viimistlema (make it better).
• Your words come back: We detect your vocabulary gaps, and saved words return as exercises at the right time—in the real sentences where you met them. Spaced repetition intervals: Today, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month.

• Real-world data: Every lesson is built from curated, real-world sentence pairs—marked, reviewed, and matched to how people actually write and speak. AI detects your vocabulary gaps but never generates content.
• Daily practice: Learn in 5-minute sessions via the web app. Your saved words become a personal pipeline, with adaptive practice closing gaps a few minutes at a time.

Backed by research, not habit-streak tricks. Context-first learning is what memory research has validated for over a century:

• 30–50% of reading time disappears into dictionary lookups (Luppescu & Day, 1993).
