Learn about Student Advancement Ambassadors
Student Advancement Ambassadors play a critical role in the overall success of the Shippensburg University Foundation’s Annual Fund. Each semester our Student Advancement Ambassadors contact alumni, parents and friends to update their information, tell them about the wonderful activities on campus, and ask them to make a gift to the SU Foundation. Students who are enrolled full-time at Shippensburg University are eligible to apply.
About the role
The Student Advancement Ambassador (SAA) is a member of the Annual Fund Team at the SU Foundation. SAAs are responsible for supporting SUF’s annual giving programs and communications and for inviting alumni, parents and friends of SU to make philanthropic contributions to the SU Foundation. SAA applicants should be highly motivated to advance the university through strong philanthropic support and eager to make connections with alumni, parents and friends of SU. The position will work closely with the Annual Fund Director and Assistant Annual Fund Director to engage donors of the university in a multi-channel approach (phone, email, video, etc).
Responsibilities
- Engagement: Assist in strengthening SUF’s philanthropic support by engaging and stewarding donors. Maintain an assigned portfolio of donors and increase personalized communication to assigned donors. Programs and fundraising focus vary by time of year, and portfolios will reflect that.
- Communication: Assist in strengthening outreach to alumni, parents, and friends through personalized outreach via phone, email, video message, and print materials.
- Collaboration: Assist in a seamless experience for SUF donors by making gift giving easy and by connecting requests to the full-time Annual Fund staff when needed.
- Administration: Track and manage interactions with alumni, parents, and friends through the use of RAISE software. Process gifts for donors online and update donor contact information.
Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled full-time Shippensburg University Student in good academic standing
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Schedule
The SAA position offers flexible scheduling through the fall and spring semester.
