Leak Tester (5:00am to 1:30pm) Gas Final

About the Role

In this position, you will affix external components on the switch, perform vacuum and fill processes according to specifications, test for leaks, and begin the reclaim process if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and assemble required parts according to drawings
  • Maintain leak test equipment
  • Set up vacuum and fill processes according to specifications
  • Leak test fully pressurized switchgear per instruction
  • Set up reclaim process as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
  • Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of testing tasks
  • Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Communicate effectively with others at various levels of the organization

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or combination of work experience and skill development
  • 0-1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment (ideal)
  • Able to safely use small hand and power tools
  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task a variety of simultaneous processes
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and bills of material (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English

Physical Demands

Work is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles.

  • Lifting Demands:
    • Lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis (floor to waist with assistance)
    • Lift up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis (floor to waist)
    • Carry up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis (up to 25 feet)
    • Push/Pull up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
    • Push/Pull more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis (with assistance)
  • Postural Demands:
    • Standing – continuous
    • Walking – continuous
    • Bending/stooping – frequent
    • Squatting/kneeling – frequent
    • Lifting – frequent
  • Miscellaneous Demands:
    • Gripping, manipulation, fingering – continuous
    • Variable hand/power tool use – frequent
    • Two-person tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling, and pushing (e.g., engine stands, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and hoists)

Pay

Pay range is typically between $20 - $21 per hour. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
