Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.
- Perform routine, scheduled inspections of components (valves, connectors, pumps, tanks) to detect leaks of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
- Maintain and operate analyzers (e.g., Flame Ionization Detectors - FID).
- Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases like LeakDAS, GuideWare, SkyBridge.
- Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and strict site safety protocols.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.
Qualifications
- Must be able to wear protective clothing or equipment, including Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask & escape pack, and a hard hat.
- Ability to work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95+ degrees Fahrenheit, 98% humidity, and subzero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.
- Exposure to dust, chemical & environmental, fumes (chemical & fluids), exhaust, and highly pressurized fluids.
- Physical stamina: Ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, climb ladders/scaffolding (sometimes up to 100 ft), and lift up to 60 lbs.
