Responsibilities
- Lead and support production employees during daily manufacturing operations
- Assign and prioritize work based on production schedules and supervisor direction
- Provide on-the-job guidance and training to new and existing employees
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Monitor workflow to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and according to specifications
- Ensure quality standards, work instructions, and drawings are followed
- Identify and communicate production issues, delays, or material shortages to supervision
- Promote and enforce safety practices, PPE usage, and housekeeping standards
- Absorb and perform basic quality checks and documentation
- Support onboarding and cross-training of production employees
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience leading hourly craft or production employees is preferred
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, fabrication, or assembly
- Strong understanding of safety practices in an industrial setting
- Must be able to pass measuring tape skills test
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and production schedules
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
- Must be able to pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)
