Location: Midtown, NYC • Monday–Friday • 35 hours/week • Exempt

About the role

Working under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy Engagement and Annual Giving, you will coordinate key donor pipeline programs and execute the work plan for Grateful Patient, Recurring Giving, and Partners in Medicine outreach. Renew, retain, upgrade, and qualify donors to be passed on to senior individual gift officers.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the direct marketing work plan for grateful patient outreach and the Partners in Medicine leadership giving society.
  • Actively work to increase leadership giving society membership, retention, and upgrade rates.
  • Identify, qualify, and refer major and planned giving prospects.
  • Maintain a personal prospect portfolio.
  • Develop individual strategies and action plans, from donor discovery through cultivation, solicitation, and closure of gifts.
  • Directly respond to prospective and existing donor inquiries.
  • Work with the Director to utilize WCM’s database of record (BBEC) to identify areas of opportunity within the constituent base.
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure compliance with all Weill Cornell Medicine guidelines relating to donor outreach and patient data confidentiality and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1–2 years of full-time frontline exposure/experience working with donors (e.g., annual fund, individual giving, alumni giving), preferably in an academic, nonprofit, or comparable environment.
  • Experience with fundraising databases.

Skills

  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, fundraising databases such as BBEC and Raiser’s Edge.
  • Excellent computer skills including solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong self-management, ability to multitask, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Team-oriented individual who works collaboratively to achieve team goals.

Pay

$86,600 – $96,900 per year.

Schedule

  • Standard office hours with occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Occasional travel within NYC may be necessary.
