About the Role

The Leader in Training (LIT) is an adaptable and essential part of the RISE Dispensary leadership team that prioritizes delivering memorable, positive consumer experiences. As part of the leadership team, you play a key role in actively supervising the dispensary’s daily operations, communicating priorities to team members, and optimizing the customer journey. This role provides subject matter expertise through rotation across critical dispensary functions supporting operations, experience, and people. It is a developmental step designed to fast-track growth toward becoming an Assistant General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Operations
    • Support management in overseeing dispensary operations to ensure compliance with security, inventory, and local and state regulations.
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring product assortment and communicating inventory action items with management.
    • Oversee the intake and verification of deliveries, transfers, and inventory management, ensuring accuracy within the vault.
    • Lead team members in executing programs, initiatives, and regionalized in-store promotions.
    • Demonstrate proper cash handling, including processing payments, applying discounts, and maintaining cash, while overseeing team member execution.
  • Experience
    • Lead by example and motivate team members to deliver memorable, positive in-store customer experiences.
    • Participate in “Leader On Duty” shifts to provide active supervision, team member recognition, and behavior redirection to support the customer journey.
    • Facilitate a seamless omni-channel customer experience, ensuring consistency across in-store, drive-thru, curbside, and delivery.
    • Motivate team members to achieve Loyalty goals.
    • Complete and delegate assigned tasks during scheduled shifts, ensuring adequate sales floor coverage and zoning.
  • People
    • Partner with the General Manager or Assistant General Manager to build and retain a high-performing team by participating in talent selection, onboarding, and training of new team members.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to help team members exceed performance and behavioral expectations.
    • Partner with management to issue accountability.
    • Facilitate the store’s team member badging process with local and state agencies.
    • Maintain and coordinate scheduling of team members' shifts, meal breaks, and rest periods.
    • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of customer service or retail experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Cannabis experience preferred.
  • Inventory control experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet scheduling and availability requirements, including working varying shifts (mornings, days, nights, and weekends).
  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must pass all required background checks.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license or state ID.
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb.
  • Solid understanding of Cannabis laws, rules, and regulations, with a passion for furthering industry knowledge.

  • Proficiency in using standard office equipment and computer software, including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and email.

  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Operates with professionalism and integrity, including handling confidential information.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, handle employee and customer complaints, and settle disputes.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to perform the following tasks for prolonged periods (e.g., up to the duration of a scheduled shift or workday):
    • Move about the dispensary to fulfill work assignments and assist employees, patients, and/or customers.
    • Remain in a stationary position as required by business needs.
    • Converse and communicate directly with individuals and groups.
    • Operate point-of-sale systems, computers, and other office productivity machinery.
    • Prepare patient and customer orders by moving and placing products.
    • Inspect and receive detailed information, such as dates of birth, orders, or inquiries.
    • Move inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independently.
    • Position self to move inventory and materials in storage areas.

Working Conditions

  • Patient and/or customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
  • Exposure to cannabis and/or allergens that may be present in an environment where cannabis is prevalent.
