About the role

Code Ninjas is a local family-owned business that teaches kids ages 5-14 to explore the world of code in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment where gaming is celebrated and STEM is cool. Our robust, game-based curriculum is built to keep our Ninjas engaged, challenged, and learning! Code Ninjas offers a variety of events and programs to make coding fun for every child.

Responsibilities

• Teach computer programming concepts to students using the Code Ninjas curriculum
• Guide students through coding projects and challenges, offering support and encouragement
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving
• Absorb students in troubleshooting technical issues and debugging code
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians as needed
• Collaborate with other instructors to develop and refine curriculum materials
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in technology and education
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts
• Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources
• Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or mentorship role
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching and learning
• Availability to consistently work the required schedule
• Ability to commute to and from Code Ninjas
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Experience in education or childcare preferred but not required

Available Shifts/Hours

• Student Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM (year-round)
• Saturdays: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM (year-round)
• Flexibility to work Code Ninjas Camps: Monday - Friday (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)
