About the role

Penske Logistics is seeking warehouse associates to join an excellent team. This position provides support and some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associate functions, working closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure productivity expectations are met.

Responsibilities

  • Stage and sort products for loading
  • Load and unload trailers
  • Execute and provide process and project visibility to Operations Supervisor
  • Lead and comply with Safety and Well Being efforts on assigned shift
  • Move materials within the warehouse
  • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
  • Perform quality control
  • Complete daily logs
  • Communicate with associates from other shifts
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material/equipment needs
  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute them to production workers or assembly lines
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, shelves, or convey orders to packing stations or shipping departments
  • Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Use computers to enter records and maintain inventory records
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
  • Transport stored items from warehouse to plant or pick up items from multiple locations for shipment (where applicable)
  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

  • 4 years of warehouse experience required
  • 2 years of inventory or materials management experience preferred
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior forklift certification preferred
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred
  • Ability to learn and use proprietary software required
  • Flexible to work overtime preferred
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
  • Ability to lead a small team, work independently, and manage customer service interactions
  • Multi-tasking, organizational, flexibility, numerical, time management, and execution skills required
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and work at the specified location
  • Must complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening
  • This position is designated as safety sensitive; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
  • Must accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, or other information
  • Must be able to see and verbally communicate
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medical codes)
  • Must frequently move, stand, walk, and sit
  • Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg

Pay

Hourly Rate: $21.26

Schedule

Wednesday–Saturday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm (4x10 hour days)
