Lead Warehouse Worker - Union
Overview
The Lead Warehouse Worker is responsible for providing guidance and participating in warehouse operations. This position will train, provide work direction, and be responsible for one or more of the following job duties: receiving, stocking, and loading.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive and check-in merchandise from inbound shipments, compare to purchase orders or other documents
- Fill case and bottle orders for products
- Train and provide work direction for others
- Load delivery trucks and other outbound shipments of billed orders
- Maintain and prepare records, as required
- Operate warehouse equipment and arrange for maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment as needed
- Restock daily bottle and case inventory sold
- Meet schedules and timelines
- Participate in inventory counts as directed
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Understand the safety rules and requirements in the workplace
- Attend safety meetings and take all safety classes, as needed
- Ensure warehouse equipment service needs, safety needs, and other safety issues are reported promptly
- Responsible for filling out the equipment report before usage
- Accountable for meeting operational efficiency goals
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience
- Forklift certified in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of modern warehousing practices and methods
Physical Demands
- Significant time spent walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- Frequent lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling up to 48 pounds
- Sitting and operating machinery such as a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations
- Repetitive motions, working at varying heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions
- Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules may be required
