Responsibilities
- Oversee warehouse order-picking operations, ensuring team productivity, inventory accuracy, and safety compliance.
- Guide staff, manage workflow, utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanners, and resolve issues to meet shipping deadlines.
- Key roles include training and quality control.
- Responsible for optimizing picking efficiency by driving floor performance related to LPH for associates.
- Use work orders and verbal instructions to assemble materials and containers which need to be picked, moved, or staged.
- Pack merchandise for shipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce damage during the shipping process.
- Properly label, and mark material for easy identification and auditing.
- Use Eclipse to confirm picking and staging of materials, ensuring proper piece count for drivers and customers.
- Document shipments and changes in inventory using Eclipse.
- Maintain a safe, clean, work area, enforcing all safety protocols and equipment handling procedures.
- Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; examine outgoing shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with direct manager.
- Perform regular counting of inventory and inspecting items for damage.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D), or 2-4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Data-entry, reporting, and recordkeeping skills.
- Knowledge of safety practices, and wears PPE as assigned.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. Must be Forklift Operation Certified after hire.
- Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
- Must be able to read and interpret invoices and packing slips.
- Strong communication skills. Able to present information to management, customers, vendors, employees, and the public.
- Problem-solving skills including collecting and presenting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions to solve practical problems where only limited information and standardization exists.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- The typical environment for this position is in a warehouse.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Outdoor work exposed to elements and non-conditioned warehouse spaces.
- Able to bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
- Stand and walk continuously throughout an 8-hour shift (up to 100% of the time).
- Climb ladders safely, work in dusty and dirty conditions; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a safe working environment.
Location and Hours
Location: San Leandro, CA
Work hours: 2:00pm-10:30pm
Pay
This is a non-exempt position and pays between $25.48 – 29.74 per hour. This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role.
