Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises wait staff.
  • Busses and resets tables as needed.
  • Ensures dining room is clean and reset to standard prior to next meal.
  • Takes meal orders in an accurate and courteous manner, providing prompt service to fill orders and requests.
  • Assists in the orientation of all new employees including: on-the-job training, adherence to policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations.
  • Assists the Food Service Director in other administrative activities as directed by Management.
  • Maintains standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the food services department.
  • Ensures that appropriate levels of coverage are maintained at all times. Informs supervisor of staffing/scheduling needs.
  • Monitors and ensures completion of wait staff opening and closing duties.
  • Keeps supervisor and cook(s) informed of questions, comments, and/or complaints. Diligently works to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Familiar with food service disaster plan.

  • Fully complies with all provisions in Eskaton’s Corporate Compliance Policy and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Maintains attendance as outlined in Eskaton policy.
  • Follows required dress code and Eskaton’s Community Appearance Standards. Maintains a professional image to the public and residents.
  • Works in accordance with established safety guidelines; uses proper body mechanics; follows safe work practices; wears appropriate safety gear.

Requirements

  • Education: High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year work experience in food service operations.
  • California Food Handler certification.
  • Ability to understand and work harmoniously with residents, staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards.
  • Computer knowledge is helpful but not required.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test, and health screen.
  • All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.

Pay

Starting pay ranges from $20.87 per hour - $25.42 per hour. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.
