Lead Veterinarian

About the Role

Stone Ridge Veterinary Medical Center & Pet Resort is seeking a Medical Lead Veterinarian to champion medical excellence, mentor associate veterinarians, and partner with the Practice Manager to build a healthy, engaged team. This leadership role drives continuous improvement of patient care and client service while fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the DVM team by managing associate veterinarians, conducting regular performance discussions, coaching on individual development goals (including production and PCT), and fostering teamwork and retention
• Role-model medical excellence by setting the example for high-quality medicine, client service, and efficiency while practicing as an associate veterinarian and achieving production goals
• Drive hospital performance by helping develop the annual operating plan, managing financial performance toward an EBITDA goal, and ensuring compliance with medical and DEA regulations
• Foster a culture of growth by leading monthly doctor meetings on best practices, new services, and medical standards, supervising externship and mentorship programs, and championing recruitment
• Serve as an ambassador through community engagement at schools, universities, and local events

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and valid state license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of practical clinical experience
• Servant leadership mentality with commitment to core values and ability to build strong, collaborative relationships
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Understanding of (or willingness to learn) financial and operating management of a hospital
• Proficiency in intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, etc.)
• Enthusiasm and desire to be part of a progressive, growth-oriented culture
