About the role
The Lead VDC Engineer manages the information utilized by the building model, supporting regional VDC training, and assisting in various aspects of project implementation and coordination.
Responsibilities
- Supports regional VDC training
- Develops, implements, and maintains project VDC execution plans and strategies in collaboration with the project manager and VDC manager
- Manages information dissemination and resolves issues within the model
- Oversees quality assurance on model reliability, structure, and content
- Aids in archiving models from pre-construction through post-construction phases
- Aids VDC manager in implementing new software, processes, and technology
- Creates and drives the implementation of a VDC coordination schedule with project superintendent support
- Supports project alignment and validation between survey and 3D models, integrating with primary control
- Assists estimating department in using provided models for quantity survey, visualization, and other communication needs
- Participates in procurement efforts through model development, proposal, and interview representation
- Supports book of 14 reporting and all point review reporting
- Collaborates with QC managers during project QC audits
Requirements
- A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or within a team
- Strong understanding of construction documents
- Possess technical knowledge of commercial building design and documentation
- Strong organizational skills and graphic communication skills
- Proficiency in computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel-based templates, and Autodesk Suite with a focus on 3D authoring tools and Manage Navisworks
- A basic understanding of collaboration, 4D, 5D, and 6D tools

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
