Lead UX Researcher, Growth
About the role
We are seeking a seasoned user researcher to lead research strategy for our Growth product teams, ensuring research informs product decisions and drives strategy. This role involves developing and executing end-to-end research, focusing on growth areas such as international expansion, monetization, and merchandising, while building inclusive products with accessibility in mind.
Responsibilities
- Build and drive the research roadmap for Growth product teams, aligning research with product decision-making and strategy.
- Develop and execute end-to-end research using a range of methods, from strategic to iterative and evaluative, to help teams achieve their goals.
- Conduct research into growth areas, including international expansion, monetization, and merchandising.
- Design inclusive products by considering diverse audiences' needs, pain points, and behaviors, with a focus on accessibility.
- Act as a strategic cross-functional partner, collaborating with product managers, designers, data scientists, customer experience, marketing, and brand strategy teams to identify key research questions and prioritize projects.
- Deliver high-impact insights at velocity to help teams make informed decisions and build momentum toward our mission.
- Champion a culture of honest, empathetic communication and help cross-functional partners navigate ambiguity with confidence and care.
Requirements
- 6+ years of user research experience, including 2-3 years in a consumer-facing product research role.
- Experience working on monetization, subscriptions, new revenue streams, or zero-to-one products.
- Mixed-methods expertise with strong quantitative skills (e.g., surveys, experimental frameworks) and experience measuring sentiment in experiments.
- Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and dashboard creation using tools like R, SPSS, Looker, or similar statistical software.
- Strong communication skills, with a commitment to telling clear and compelling stories with data.
- Proactive in building and sustaining trusting relationships with cross-functional partners (e.g., data science, customer experience, product management, design, engineering, marketing).
- Eagerness to learn from, collaborate with, and mentor other researchers.
- Ability to champion team culture in authentic, courageous, and empathic ways.
Pay
$207,000 - $254,000 a year. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence the base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York City and may be subject to geographic adjustment if authorized to work outside of this location.
