Responsibilities

  • Supervise labor support in various areas including housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate and plan work schedules for ash and APC equipment operators.
  • Assign tasks and provide direction to operators.
  • Manage the ash house operations to facilitate boiler functionality.
  • Operate and maintain industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.
  • Work closely with Operations and Maintenance Managers and the H&S Director to achieve safety and operational goals.
  • Assign daily tasks to ash equipment operators, monitor work, and report unusual circumstances to the facility manager.
  • Ensure proper disposal of ash, mud, gravel, garbage, and other materials.
  • Prepare the facility for group visits and coordinate vendor/contractor activities.
  • Serve as the Facility Manager's representative during Upper Management absences.
  • Maintain and enforce company policies, environmental compliance, safety, and health standards.
  • Create work requests through Tabware.
  • Maintain frequent rounds of the facility to ensure proper operation of equipment, materials, security, cleanliness, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Correct safety and environmental hazards and ensure proper use of personal protective and safety equipment.
  • Complete corporate and facility training programs within prescribed timelines.
  • Follow standard safety procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and assist in diagnosing problem areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a technical field is desirable.
  • Understanding of trash-fired, mass-burn, steam-powered generating facilities and auxiliary systems.
  • One to three years of related experience applying technical skills.
  • Two years of experience directing and guiding four or more employees in power facilities, manufacturing, warehousing, or similar environments.
  • Mechanical skills to perform tasks like opening vessel and equipment access doors, placing and removing furnace access equipment, operating power tools, and performing minor repairs.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and CMMS.
