About the role

This position requires leading, performing, mentoring, and providing technical expertise on cooled and uncooled turbine components design and analysis. The Lead Turbine Design Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and global research partners to develop next-generation simulation and analysis capabilities by integrating AI with traditional computational tools such as CFD and multi-physics solvers. You will serve as a program team leader, drive new turbine component development, lead design efforts, and report to internal and customer senior stakeholders. Additionally, you will lead proposals for future business opportunities, value engineering, and program/process changes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in multi-discipline engineering tasks associated with the design, development, and testing of turbine components, particularly turbine blades and vanes.
  • Conceive new and innovative concepts for turbine components cooling schemes to minimize cooling flow requirements while achieving highly durable design.
  • Champion turbine design system continuous improvement initiatives through lessons learned, best practices, and comparative benchmarking to reduce design cycle time and development costs.
  • Lead engine test activities pertinent to turbine components validation and qualification, including selecting instrumentation, creating test plans, and participating in engine test activities.
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of Physics-AI models and surrogate models to accelerate engineering workflows for CFD and thermal analysis.
  • Work with enterprise project engineers and product chiefs to support the development of new growth engines and existing fielded engines.
  • Drive the development and implementation of strategies supporting the Turbines department’s vision and objectives, aligning with Honeywell Aerospace’s goals.
  • Communicate technical results to internal and external customers and senior stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers in the team.
