About the role

AECOM is seeking a High Voltage Transmission Engineering Lead with a specialization in utility transmission design. This role can be based remotely or in any AECOM office, focusing on projects in PST and CST timezones. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 6 years of experience in power transmission design, including experience with overhead and underground transmission facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
  • Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV, developing project schedules and defining technical staff for projects and daily work.
  • Assist in the development of technical staff through mentoring, instructing of technical engineering principles, and governing electrical and safety codes.
  • Instruct and teach the technical staff in the use of computer systems and software, tools and equipment, and company-owned motor vehicles.
  • Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain great relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure.
  • Experience with PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design.
  • Professional disposition and the ability to be open-minded when it comes to planning and execution of projects being worked on by staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and understanding of its integration into daily activities.
  • Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry-relevant standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $110000 to $160000 per year.
