Lead Traffic Engineer
Job Summary
The nationwide traffic and transportation engineering team at TYLin is seeking an experienced, creative, and detail-oriented Senior Transportation Engineer. This role involves serving as project manager or lead traffic engineer on various transportation projects, including neighborhood transportation and parking studies, multimodal planning and analyses, traffic impact studies, traffic simulation/modeling, complete streets design, traffic management plans, and safety studies.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with staff across multiple offices
- Manage priorities and think creatively
- Lead projects and tasks from initiation to completion
- Train junior staff
- Contribute to business development and marketing activities such as writing proposals and attending industry events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering
- 8-15 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning
- Registered Traffic Engineer (TE) in California
- High proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and/or Vissim
- Expert user of Excel
- Experience in project management and client management
- Experience leading and preparing proposals for private and public sector clients
- Able to commute to the office at least three days per week
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preference will be given to candidates interested in our Los Angeles or Oakland offices, but other offices in California could be considered.
