What You'll Do
You'll create and lead a classroom where children feel safe, loved, confident, and excited to explore the world around them. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing engaging, hands-on learning experiences
- Creating a nurturing classroom built around curiosity and exploration
- Supporting children's language, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- BUILDING STRONG relationships with families through open communication
- Leading daily routines with patience and consistency
- Mentoring and collaborating with Assistant Teachers
- Maintaining a clean, organized, welcoming classroom
- Helping every child feel valued, capable, and successful
Qualifications
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or another Pennsylvania-approved equivalent) from an accredited college or university is required.
- Experience working with toddlers (12–36 months) in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is required.
- Previous experience leading a toddler classroom is strongly preferred.
- A strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for toddlers.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care of young children.
- Must successfully complete all required Pennsylvania state background clearances and licensing requirements.
