What You'll Do
- Be a part of a consistent Team
- Staffing — Classrooms are staffed with 3 teachers at all times, supporting collaborative planning and shared responsibility for children's care and education.
- Lead a toddler classroom by creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that support language, literacy, social-emotional development, and early STEAM learning.
- Build warm, responsive relationships with children and families.
- Supervise and support classroom team members while modeling positive teaching practices.
- Partner with families through daily communication, conferences, workshops, and family events.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Observe and document children's growth and development.
- Collaborate with teaching team members to implement ELLI's curriculum and approach.
- Support classroom routines including meals, diapering, toileting, transitions, and outdoor play.
- Ensure compliance with NAEYC standards and Connecticut licensing regulations.
Requirements
- Required: Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education OR Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 12 credits in Child Development or Early Childhood Education identified by OEC
- Minimum one (1) year of professional childcare or classroom experience
- PREFERRED: Experience leading or mentoring classroom staff, Knowledge of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), Experience working with toddlers in a group setting, Strong communication and family engagement skills, Bilingual Spanish/English
