Lead Test Engineer
This is a hybrid position based out of our Moon Township, PA location, offering benefits from day one. Relocation assistance will be provided within the US/PR. The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000, based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
About the role
We are seeking an innovative problem-solver to lead mechanical and electrical testing development for the Power Components Division. You will collaborate with a dynamic global team to design and improve test equipment and capabilities, driving tester development for new product introduction projects from design concept through production launch.
The Lead Test Engineer is a specialized professional with electrical, automation, and programming skills responsible for leading tester development and validation for new product launches and division-led product testing projects. This role involves writing test specifications, executing complex assembly tests, validating new equipment, and troubleshooting PCD test equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design and industrialize test and automation processes, equipment, and fixtures for new product development (NPD).
- Drive optimization of new and existing testing processes and procedures.
- Develop tester specifications and test procedures; collaborate with suppliers on test equipment design and construction.
- Set up and validate new test equipment and ensure tester readiness for production.
- Assure test equipment meets expected performance; support troubleshooting and tester-related yield issues.
- Create and deploy testing-related Standard Work and training.
- Develop and mentor plant Test Engineering leads.
- Identify resource and equipment gaps.
- Lead business case development for new test equipment and improvement projects.
- Manage capital expenditures and forecasts for NPD test equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Five years of experience in designing, building, and operating production test equipment as well as software testing.
- Experience with statistical quality tools, such as capability studies and gage R&Rs.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification.
- Experience in new product development and industrialization.
- Experience working in or with Plant Operations.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, quality management processes, and project management.
- Experience with industrial circuit breakers and switchgear.
Skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines.
- Competence in NI LabVIEW, TestStand, and test scripts.
- Electrical and mechanical safety knowledge.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
