Position Description CGI is seeking an experienced Lead Test Engineer to support a large scale federal IT modernization program. In this role, you will lead automated, integration, and system testing for complex system of systems model. You will plan and manage major testing assignments, validate data and transaction flows across interconnected systems, APIs, interfaces, and ensure successful end to end processing across a multi system environment. You will collaborate closely with agile teams throughout the testing lifecycle, serve as testing expert across multiple projects, evaluate test results and system performance, identify integration defects and risks, and recommend improvements supporting system quality and overall program success. This role may include supervising and mentoring testing professionals. Success in this role requires deep technical expertise in automated and integration testing, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure quality across complex, interconnected federal systems. This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Your future duties and responsibilities Test Planning & Management Lead planning and management of major testing assignments for enterprise applications. Develop and execute automated, integration, interface, and end to end test strategies. Coordinate testing activities across development, integration, and business teams. Integration Testing Validate data exchanges and workflows across interconnected systems, APIs, interfaces, and external applications. Analyze test results, identify integration defects and risks, and recommend corrective actions to ensure system quality. Lead the planning and performance of stress testing for optimum scalability and performance of systems with high volume surge requirements Technical Leadership & Collaboration Serve as a testing expert across multiple projects, guiding best practices for testing, data validation, and integration quality. Supervise and mentor testing professionals; support team growth and capability development. Provide executive level briefings related to test planning, management (risks/issues), and implementation Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance Recommend improvements to support system quality and project success. Evaluate system performance and integration outcomes to ensure successful end to end processing. Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 10–14 years of software testing and quality assurance experience. Strong hands on automated testing and implementation experience. Experience with system to system, integration, interface, API, and end to end testing. Ability to validate data exchanges and workflows across interconnected applications. Experience planning and leading major testing assignments. Ability to analyze test results, identify integration risks, and recommend corrective actions. Experience coordinating testing across development, integration, and business teams. Demonstrated technical leadership across complex or high impact projects. Desired qualifications/non essential skills required: Experience leading testing activities with multiple ARTs within a release train representing agile teams from multiple contractors ISTQB Certified Tester or Certified Agile Tester. Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP). Additional relevant automated testing or QA certifications. Experience supervising and mentoring testing professionals. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $113,400.00 $245,500.00.
