About the role

The Lead Techno-Functional Specialist will assist with the daily functions of Information Technology, focusing on the planning, architecture, development, maintenance, and support of complex SAP enterprise solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Optimizes, monitors, and configures SAP environments in line with business requirements.
  • Manages landscape synchronization activities such as system clone and refresh activities.
  • Leads employees, co-workers, and contractors in work-related duties including scheduling activities within different functional areas in support of keeping the SAP systems available 24/7.
  • Communicates with end-users and third-party vendors to obtain requirements for projects and application updates for major/complex applications.
  • Leads the design, programming (development), maintenance and execution of testing of new and changed functionality for complex/major applications.
  • Writes advanced programs for complex specific applications and designs special reports and forms as requested by various County departments in compliance with County and IT department policy and procedures.
  • Partners with business units to identify improvements that will increase efficiency of the systems.
  • Provides second-level end-user support including direct interaction with users when necessary to troubleshoot and document issues and resolutions.
  • Conducts statistical reporting to management relating to application performance, usability and upgrade requirements to properly support County departments.
  • Manages interfaces and associated error logs and governs over job scheduling to ensure integrity of their execution.
  • Maintains business process procedures in conjunction with the process owners.
  • Solves Request/Incident tickets from users and provides telephone and onsite technical support to troubleshoot and fix the most complex customer department end-user problems.
  • Creates Request/Incident tickets from users and generates Requests for Change to the production environment to troubleshoot and fix the most complex customer department end-user problems.
  • Works closely with vendors to resolve issues and manage deployments.
  • Analyzes and resolves the most complex application and data problems.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on developing solutions in both an on-premise environment as well as a cloud based environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of experience in information technology including experience or training in systems analysis, design and computer programming.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Competency with computers and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong ability to meet service level agreements and project deadlines.
  • Developed expertise in procedures and programming standards for SAP technologies; ABAP, HTLM5 (UI5), as well as Java and Java scripting.
  • Excellence in documentation including architectural diagrams for components, complex technical solutions, and systems integrations.
  • Extensive knowledge of systems analysis, program design and specification, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently on the most complex assignments using independent discretion and judgment as well as transition quickly between projects/issues with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to gather requirements, analyze systems, develop solutions, test and document changes working in collaboration with other developers in a team environment.
  • Ability to gather, understand and translate business requirements into system solutions.
  • Ability to easily and effectively interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business staff at all levels.

Knowledge

  • Core experience working with SAP ECC environments, PI, SAP BW, SAP HANA, Solution Manager, SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Cloud solutions, and the interconnectivity of SAP technologies.
  • SAP S4 HANA experience a plus.
  • SAP Optical Archiving and Archiving experience a plus.
